Trax at Eaglewood Village
Light Rail service may soon be expanding into southern Davis County. Officials from the Utah Transit Authority say a line from Centerville to Salt Lake City would complement other public transportation options, including the FrontRunner commuter train. The first stop going north from Downtown Salt Lake on the preferred route alternative would be at Eaglewood Village.
UTA has already concluded a Preferred Alternatives Study and has now begun an Environmental Impact Study which is the next step in making light rail to Davis County a reality. A copy of the Preferred Alternatives Study is available at www.udot.utah.gov.southdavistransit.
UTA Project Manager Kerry Doane said this setup would steer more south Davis County residents to transit, because heavy commuter rail might not be as convenient for them as those who live farther north. "There's a travel market that's apart from the people that will benefit from commuter rail," Doane said.
We are excited to continue to work with UTA to make Light Rail to Davis County and Eaglewood Village a reality!
